Main Conference
(14th and 15th November 2024)
The leading conference on “Transdisciplinary Approaches in Addressing Nutrition Challenges” aims to explore innovative strategies and collaborative efforts from various disciplines to tackle the complex issue of malnutrition in India. It seeks to integrate perspectives from nutrition science, public health, agriculture, policymaking, and community engagement to develop comprehensive solutions that address the country’s multifaceted nature of nutrition challenges.
This year's theme is carefully chosen in light of India's complex array of nutrition challenges, which include the triple burden of malnutrition and non-communicable diseases associated with nutrition. These challenges, which encompass issues such as the dual burden of malnutrition, hidden hunger, and non-communicable diseases linked to nutrition, cannot be effectively addressed through isolated disciplinary approaches.

Embracing a transdisciplinary approach acknowledges the necessity of amalgamating knowledge and proficiency from a variety of domains, including nutrition science, public health, agriculture, economics, sociology, culinary science and policy-making, to comprehensively tackle these concerns.

This theme fosters collaboration and ingenuity by assembling specialists, scientists from diverse fields, nurturing interdisciplinary address, and capitalizing on varied perspectives. This collaborative environment fosters the creation of innovative strategies, interventions, and policies that are more impactful, culturally attuned, and sustainable in addressing India's nutrition challenges.

The various sessions of the conference aim to demonstrate the evidence of utilizing a transdisciplinary approach in capacity-building endeavours, focusing on cross-disciplinary education, skill development, and knowledge sharing among researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and community stakeholders.

This empowerment facilitates the cultivation of context-specific solutions and the implementation of evidence-based interventions tailored to the distinct needs of India's diverse populace.
The role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Nutrition Practice and Research is becoming increasingly significant as technology continues to advance. AI offers innovative tools and methodologies for analysing vast amounts of nutritional data, identifying patterns, and providing personalized recommendations. This session will delve into AI’s applications, challenges, and prospects in nutrition, highlighting its transformative impact on improving health outcomes and informing evidence-based dietary interventions.
The Global Hunger Index (GHI) debate revolves around the question: “Does it depict hunger and malnutrition accurately?” This discussion delves into the effectiveness of the GHI as a measure of food insecurity and malnutrition worldwide. This debate aims to critically examine the strengths and limitations of the GHI as a tool for assessing global hunger and malnutrition and explore alternative approaches to measuring and addressing these complex issues.

The Scientific program promises a rich array of plenary lectures, oral presentations, and poster sessions covering an extensive range of topics pertinent to the conference theme.

The eminent speakers will deliver sessions to tackle the pressing challenges in nutrition and collectively pave the way for a healthier future.
